This monthly advanced jazz workshop is ideal for professionals, educators, experienced students. We will celebrate jazz as a powerful vernacular art form with African roots and global impact. Grounded in Simonson Technique, dancers train with anatomically sound alignment, somatic awareness, and deep stretching—learning to self correct based on how they feel, not what they see.
Class builds toward performance with a strong focus on musicality, rhythmic footwork, grounded hip isolations, and expressive articulation of the arms hands and feet. Expect syncopation, posing, Afro-based vocabulary, Art Deco lines, Latin accents, and layered improvisation—all in a “jazz way.”
The choreography in this monthly jazz workshop is specifically designed to challenge professionals, educators, and advanced students by providing a dynamic environment that fosters growth, allowing participants the space to evolve and refine their technique and expression at a high level.
